PASSERIFORMES: Menuridae
Menura novaehollandiae
I called in at Badger Weir just before dusk and opted to wander along a path called Lyrebird Track. Lo and behold, only a short distance on I came upon a Superb Lyrebird on the track.
It then took up a perched position in a nearby shrub and I spent about half an hour enthralled by the numerous different calls and sounds the bird made, only dragging myself away due to the falling night and the fact that they lock the gate at 7pm.
